Helping to build His kingdom, here on earth |
|
Our Mission Ekklesia are followers of Christ who have a vision to encourage, inspire, bless and serve everyone in their community. We follow the example found in Acts2 v42~47 in 'helping to build His kingdom, here on earth.' We seek to do this by using tools such as prayer walking, random acts of kindness, prophetic evangelism and all the gifts of the Spirit. We believe by faith that everyone can become free in Christ and fulfil their God given destiny.

What we Believe We believe that the Bible is God's Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our every day lives. We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He existed in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy. We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ as both God and man is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life. We believe that in order to receive forgiveness and the 'new birth' we must repent of our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and submit to His will for our lives. We believe that in order to live the holy and fruitful lives that God intends for us, we need to be baptised in water and be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit enables us to use spiritual gifts, including speaking in tongues and prophecy. We believe that God has individually equipped us so that we can successfully achieve His purpose for our lives which is to worship God, fulfil our role in the Church body, strengthen the believers, advance the Kingdom of Heaven and serve the community in which we live. We believe that God wants to heal and transform us so that we can live healthy and prosperous lives in order to help others more effectively. We believe that our eternal destination of either Heaven or hell is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised.

What does Ekklesia mean? |
Ekklesia is a Greek word meaning 'a group of called out people with a common purpose.' |
|
Who are we? |
We are a group of Bible believing, Spirit filled, born-again Christians seeking to follow Jesus in fulfilling His calling on our lives and achieve our God given destiny.
In doing this we seek to serve the local community and bless other followers of Christ to fulfil their destinies too. In that way we seek to advance His kingdom. |
|
Where are we currently based? |
In Ashford Middlesex - South of London Airport (Heathrow) U.K. Our focus is on the town, the whole borough of Spelthorne, Nationwide and finally Global. |
|
What are our aims? |
Currently only six percent of the population go to Church on a regular basis, but in the last national census, seventy two percent claimed they were Christian. We aim to try and reach the missing sixty six percent as well as the rest who do not claim to be Christian.
We are kingdom minded, we want to be a blessing to the bride of Christ as a whole and to those who don't know Jesus yet, therefore: · We seek to serve the local community by Loving our neighbours · Prayer walking our streets · Being outside to be the hands and feet of Jesus · To speak prophetically into peoples lives · To let you know that the kingdom of Heaven belongs to you just as you are and that there is a God who loves and cares about you. His name is Jesus.
We seek to network / encourage other Followers of Christ by Offering excellent teaching on a weekly basis · Making space to worship in His presence · Facilitate other groups to prayer walk along side us. · Organising outdoor events to touch peoples lives and advance the Kingdom · Run specialised courses such as Freedom-In-Christ and Prophetic Evangelism · Enable you to realise your potential and go for your destiny · We include regular communion. · We support the above with prayer · We seek to encourage and bless existing Churches in the area
Our aim is not to grow or focus on Ekklesia but to Advance His kingdom. |
|
Do we hold Sunday services? |
No.
We do meet mid-week for prayer, worship, teaching and fun. We also meet monthly for prayer walking, sharing over coffee and encouraging each other over lunch.
Apart from that we also meet at regular intervals to engage in outdoor ministry. |
|
Can I join your mid-week and outdoor events (because I already attend my own congregation)? |
Of course, we welcome all people to join in with us from across the area.
We do not really have the concept of membership, so we see it as reasonable that all followers of Christ can meet together while worshiping at their own congregation on Sundays.
We're saying you can do both, Ekklesia is for : · Those without a spiritual home at the moment. · Those already planted in the body who wish to receive more of Jesus. |
|
Are you a Church ? |
By definition Ekklesia does mean one of the Greek words for Church, but it means the people not the structures.
Church is not a gathering of believers, you are Church. Whenever the Body-of-Christ interfaces with non-believers, that is Church.
We are followers of Christ (Christians), who meet together to dive deeper into Jesus and advance His Kingdom. We recognise the need to equip the Saints (believers - holy ones) and to take the saving message of Jesus (gospel - light of the world) outside to all the people around us.
Through Christ and by His Spirit we will try to: love God, love our neighbours, serve our town, eagerly desire and powerfully use the gifts of the Holy Spirit to build His kingdom, give hope to the hopeless, help set captives free and restore sight to the blind. Obey the scriptures, make disciples, spend time in His presence, study the Word, renew our minds with Biblical truth, allow God to change our character by His Spirit, fellowship with each other and take communion together. Believe in our hearts and profess without mouths that Jesus Christ is Lord, evangelise everywhere, believe God, speak the truth in love, ask for miracles, follow His leading and if need be, surrender our lives. |
|
Are you connected with any other group called Ekklesia or Ecclesia? |
We are not connected in any way with other groups of a same or similar name. |
